The Guitar Cabaret

The ANZA Club presents:

In conjunction with Vancouver Craft Beer Week, The ANZA Club Presents: The Guitar Cabaret with host Paul Pigat and very special guest, Steve Pineo. Tickets are $15 and are available in advance at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3411820 19+

The ANZA Club is thrilled to present The Guitar Cabraret series with host, the internationally-reknowned singer songwriter and guitaist Paul Pigat. The Guitar Cabaret pairs local guitar virtuoso and host Paul Pigat with a wide range of guitar-slinging guests.

Paul Pigat has a robust and diverse career. Best known as the frontman and blistering guitarist for the rockabilly band Cousin Harley, Pigat also has a wide breadth of projects from jazz to roots to blues, most notably The Paul Pigat Trio and Boxcar Campfire. Paul’s solo guitar performances showcase the entire range of his work and never ceases to amaze and dazzle audiences and fans around the world. However impressive the list of credits he's compiled over the last few years has been — earned by supporting artists such as Neko Case, Jim Byrnes, Michael Kaeshammer and Carolyn Mark and opening for such acts as the Blind Boys of Alabama and The Stray Cats — it's when you get to hear Paul on his own that his star really shines.

Steve Pineo is a multifaceted guitarist, singer songwriter. A thirty year musical veteran, his shows are fast-paced and entertaining, and they take you to unexpected places.
The songs Steve has written have been covered by artists such as Paul Brand (Canadian Man) and Prairie Oyster (Too Bad For Me). Steve had five solo CDs and appears on the legendary recordings by the Co Dependants, featuring the late, great Billy Cowsill. Steve performs solo, as well an acoustic trio, an electric blues band, a six-piece New Orleans Rhythm and Blues Revue called Trick Bag and a five-piece vintage jazz ensemble called Prohibition Hall. His annual Christmas shows consistently sell out week-long runs and he has toured Alberta with The Heebee Jeebies in his loving tribute to Elvis. Not surprisingly, Steve's musical influences are vast and include blues, jazz, vintage rock and roll, country and western, soul, gospel and world music.
