Climbing Mexico's Highest Mountains

  • The ANZA Club 3 W. 8th Avenue Vancouver (map)

When Steven Levkin, Taylor Livingston and Richard Carey set off to climb three of Mexico’s highest mountains, they had no idea how many difficulties they would need to face. As novice climbers and amateur filmmakers, this expedition became a true adventure forcing them far out of their comfort zones and pushing the team to its limit.

Along with a screening of their film, Forever Upwards: Mexico, these climbers will speak of major factors that were difficult to portray in the film. Corrupted video files, snot-freezing windchill and navigating the unknown. These are only a few of the many unexpected challenges this team needed to overcome while climbing Pico de Orizaba, North America’s third highest mountain.
